On October 24, 2024 North Bund Forum “Justice and Arbitration” Forum namely the Sixth China Maritime Justice and Arbitration Summit Forum were held in Shanghai, hosted by China Maritime Arbitration Commission (hereinafter referred to as CMAC), co-organized by CMAC Shanghai Headquarters and China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone Arbitration Center, and supported by Shanghai Maritime Court and Shanghai Institute of Marine Insurance. The theme of the Forum was Forging New Productivity and Drawing a New Green Shipping Ecology. The Forum released the Shanghai Maritime Court Judicial Support for Maritime Arbitration High Quality Development Trial Briefing (2014-2024) (hereinafter referred to as the White Paper). YU Jianlong, Member of the Party Group and Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, JIA Yu, Secretary of the Party Group and President of the High Peoples Court of Shanghai Municipality, XU Huili, Deputy Secretary General of Shanghai Municipal Peoples Government, and Lars Lange, Secretary General of International Union of Marine Insurance (IUMI), attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. WANG Tong, Secretary of the Party Group and President of Shanghai Maritime Court, gave an introduction to the release of the White Paper. CAO Jie, Member of the Party Group and Vice President of the High Peoples Court of Shanghai Municipality, attended the Forum. LI Hu, Deputy Director and Secretary General of CMAC, presided over the opening ceremony. At the meeting, XU Fei, Deputy Secretary General of CMAC Shanghai Headquarters, and HU Yongqing, Member of the Party Group and Vice President of Shanghai Maritime Court, signed a cooperation agreement on behalf of the two parties. WU Chun, Member of the Party Group and director of Political Department of Shanghai Maritime Court, introduced the contents of the agreement. Chief Judge of Maritime Commerce Division of Shanghai Maritime Court participated in the seminar on Challenges and Responses of Insurance and Maritime Laws under the New Ecology of Green Shipping and delivered a speech. Nearly 150 representatives from judicial departments, government departments, industry associations, arbitration, enterprises, lawyers and academia participated in the Forum.
