The Identification of the Time Limit for Recovery of Coastal Cargo Transportation Abstract

The provisions of Article 257 of the Maritime Law on time limitation apply to the transportation of coastal goods. If the original compensation request is resolved through court proceedings, even if a new settlement is reached after the judgment of the original compensation request, the starting point of the limitation for recovery shall be calculated from the date on which the claimant for recovery receives the effective judgment of the court confirming their liability for compensation.
