Efficient Arrest of a Ship by Shanghai Maritime Court before Spring Festival to Protect People's Livelihood

Recently, 17 crew members of Ningbo-based tanker Xiangshan X applied to the Shanghai Maritime Court for arrest of the ship due to the owner's wage arrears and other related labor remuneration. In order to implement "the Special Execution Action on People's Livelihood-Related Cases on New Year's Day 2019" of Shanghai High People’s Court, Shanghai Maritime Court's Registry Division and Executive Board attached great importance to completing the filing, making legal instruments, arresting the ship and other work within one day, and actively contacting the ship custody company. The parties expressed their gratitude to the court for handling cases with high quality and efficiency, and highly praised the court's urgent working style.
