“One
Belt One Road” Construction and Maritime Judicial Response
The
Professional Committee on Maritime Trial Theory of China Judicial Theory
Research Association held its 2017 annual meeting Tuesday in Shanghai Maritime
Court. The theme of the meeting was “Construction of ‘One Belt One Road’ and
Maritime Judicial Response”.
The
speech of welcome was delivered by President Zhao Hong of the maritime court,
who is also Deputy Director of the Professional Committee on Maritime Trial
Theory and President of the Maritime Law Research Association under Shanghai Law
Society. Cao Shouye, Executive Director of China
Judicial Theory Research Association and Deputy Director of the Institute of
Applied Law of the Supreme People's Court, and Shi Jiaxiong,
Vice President of Shanghai Law Society attended the meeting and delivered
speeches. Representatives from the Institute of International Law under China
Academy of Social Science, Tsinghua University,
Shanghai Municipal Communications Commission, China Maritime Arbitration
Commission Shanghai Branch and China Ocean Shipping Group all delivered
speeches respectively. The meeting was chaired by Vice President Jia Zhenkun of the maritime
court, who is also the General Secretary of the Professional Committee on
Maritime Trial Theory and Vice President of the Maritime Law Research
Association under Shanghai Law Society.
Attendees
to the meeting included more than 60 representatives from China Applied Law
Institute of the Supreme People's Court, Shanghai Law Society, Shanghai High
People's Court, other maritime courts, relevant scientific research
institutions, authorities, arbitration agencies, port enterprises and other
units.
