Illegal fishing of 1400 kilograms of rare fish in the Yangtze River  The Shanghai Maritime Court held a public hearing of a EPIL

 

 

On the morning of June 8, the 13th “World Oceans Day”, the Shanghai Maritime Court held a live court trial of the first environmental public interest litigation prosecuted by the third branch of the Shanghai People’s Procuratorate since the implementation of the Yangtze River Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China“ in March this year. It is also the first case of the Shanghai Maritime Court that tried by the collegiate panel consist of three judges and four people’s assessors. Deputies to the Shanghai People’s Congress, members of the National Committee of CPPCC and representatives of some news media attended the trial.
