Promoting the Construction of High-end Think Tank of International Maritime Justice: 20 Experts Appointed as Special Consultants of Shanghai Base of International Maritime Justice of the Supreme People's Court

 

On March 1, Shanghai Maritime Court held the appointment ceremony of the special consultants of Shanghai Base of International Maritime Justice of the Supreme People's Courtand 20 experts were appointed as the special consultants. Wang Tong, President of Shanghai Maritime Court, issued the letters of appointment for the special consultants.

 

In 2015, the Supreme People's Court proposed the goal of "building China into an international maritime judicial center with high international influence". In April 2017, Shanghai Maritime Court was established as Shanghai Base of International Maritime Justice by the Supreme People's Court.

 

The appointment of special consultants aims to give full play to the role of experts "outer brain", strengthen the policy research on the guarantee function of maritime judicial service and the application research of maritime legal system, and promote the construction of high-end think tank of international maritime justice. The 20 invited consultants are all senior experts from transportation departments, maritime administrative administrations, shipping industry associationsscientific research institutions and so on.

 

Wang Tong said that the appointment of the special consultants of the Shanghai base of the international maritime justice of the supreme people's court is an important part of the construction of a high-end think tank of international maritime justice, which is conducive to further improving the level of maritime justice work, implementing the strategy of high-quality maritime justice, and enhancing the credibility and influence of the international maritime justice.

 

Wang Tong said that the appointment of special consultants from Shanghai Base of International Maritime Justice of the Supreme People's Court is an important part of building a high-end think tank of international maritime justice, which is conducive to further improving the level of maritime trial work, implementing the high-quality strategy of maritime justice, and enhancing the international credibility and influence of maritime justice.
